Moonee Valley, October 23 – Slick sprinter Reldas again showed his liking for the Moonee Valley track when zooming home from the tail of the field to win easily on Friday night.
Prepared by Robert Smerdon, he swooped late to win the $100,000 open sprint over 1200 metres and has now won six of 16 starts earning over $200,000 in prizemoney.
“He showed a great turn of foot and we’ll be looking at better races for him now,” said Smerdon.
A five year-old Testa Rossa gelding, Reldas, was an $82,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Cameron Cooke Bloodstock from the draft of Mill Park.
Bred by Mill Park in partnership, Reldas is a half-brother to brilliant stakes-winner Victory Chant and is the second winner from Classic Status, a half-sister by Marscay to Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed and to the dam of Group II winner Majestic Music.
