Adelaide, June 20 – Mill Park graduates enjoyed plenty of success at Morphettville on Saturday with a trio of winners headed by a quinella in the first race on the program where promising two year-olds Royal Rumble and Mail it In finished one-two.
Both horses are prepared by Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, with New Approach (IRE) colt Royal Rumble surging away from Mail It In (2c Reset x Southern Rose) to win the 1250 metre event by three lengths as favourite.
Bred by Harry Perks and retained to race with partners, Royal Rumble was raised at Mill Park and is the second winner for Queen’s Kiss, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Loving Cup.
Queen’s Kiss has a weanling colt by Rebel Raider and will foal again to the Dual Derby winner this spring.
Also winning at Morphettville were Tipperary Lil (4m Blevic x Baroness Rose), who was raised at Mill Park and Heart of a Lion, a $42,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase from the draft of Mill Park.
A half-brother by Lion Heart (USA) to triple Group I winner and $3million earner Happy Trails, stakes-placed Heart of a Lion scored his seventh win from 20 starts when saluting by more than a length over 1000 metres.
Trained by Lloyd Kennewell, Heart of a Lion has won over $225,000 in prizemoney.
Bred by Brenton and Liz Parker, Heart of a Lion is one of five winners from terrific producer Madame Flurry, a half-sister by Perugino (USA) to stakes-winner Lake Villa.
Madame Flurry has a weanling colt by All Too Hard and is in foal to Sebring.
