Tenth Win for Daytona Grey

July 11 - A Group III winner earlier this year, classy sprinter Daytona Grey cracked it for his tenth win when scoring at Gawler on Saturday.

Trained by Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, Daytona Grey overcame a wide gate to race away and win the 1200 metre dash by nearly three lengths.

Daytona Grey was a $65,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for his trainer from the Mill Park draft and has now won 10 of his 36 career starts and over $400,000 in prizemoney.

The five year-old son of Artie Schiller (USA) is one of five individual winners from the four-time Sydney metropolitan winning mare Southern Rose, but is her first to earn black-type.

Mill Park sold the current yearling from Southern Rose, a filly by Dream Ahead (USA) for $52,000 at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale this year to Mark Kavanagh.
