The second of two yearlings in the draft by Champion Two-year-old Sire Written Tycoon, who interestingly has a significant 78% winners to runners ratio for his colts, led by Group 1 winners Capitalist, Music Magnate and Written By, while his most recent Group 1 star is the highly talented mare Booker, a graduate of Mill Park Stud.

This colt is out of the General Nediym mare Victory Cry, a sister to the Listed-winning, Group 3 placed Victory Chant and a half-sister to the Listed-winning, Group 3 placed Reldas. The dam of three winners from four to race highlighted by the Listed Heritage Stakes winner Guard Of Honour and the exciting South African raced Run Fox Run (pictured below), unbeaten after three starts for the Brett Crawford stable, with the leading trainer stating that “she is definitely of black type class.”

The current two-year-old out of the mare is a colt by Shooting To Win in the Toby Edmonds stable named Battle Strike who has just had the one trial so far, winning it by a half-length margin. The mare has a colt foal by Astern on the ground.

From the family of Group 1 Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed and the Group 2-winning, Group 1 fourth placed Majestic Music, the colt is bred on a cross that has had six winners from six runners, while General Nediym as a broodmare sire is responsible for 60 stakes horses led by Group 1 winners Jameka, Hey Doc, Sizzling and Lasqueti Spirit.
